Accommodations

Del Norte is able to host all breeds of dogs. We offer five sizes of private INDOOR kennels with adjacent 14 foot long outdoor, sheltered runs. The picture above is of our adjacent outdoor, sheltered runs that every dog has access to from a doggy door flap inside the building. Our building is HEATED by radiant in-floor heat in the cooler months and we have recently installed a new AIR CONDITIONING unit for the warmer months. We provide kennel decks and blankets to keep your dog cozy and comfortable; however, feel free to bring your own bedding and toys. One helpful hint is to label your dog’s bedding with a sharpie marker (if possible) to assist us in keeping track of our guests’ items.

VACCINES: All dogs must provide up-to-date vaccination records for every visit. We require proof of vaccination for Bordetella, Parvovirus plus Rabies. Please note that Bordetella is an ANNUAL vaccine that must be UPDATED every year. Though we attempt to contact owners when shots are not up to date, we have many new dogs arriving daily and vaccine records are ultimately up to the owner to produce upon every visit. Please be ready to show a printed receipt of your pet’s vaccines with renewal dates for our records. Please send your pet’s updated records to delnortekennels@gmail.com a week prior to your dog’s arrival, drop by the office with your paperwork, or give us a call to make other arrangements such as forwarding your information directly from your vet.

Food and Exercise

We request that you please bring your own dog food as many pets are sensitive to changes in diet. Alternatively, we offer high-quality Performatrin Brand Chicken or Lamb and Rice dry dog food for $4/dog/day. We use stainless steel bowls to feed the dogs and would prefer that guests keep their bowls at home to prevent dishes getting mixed up with ours when it’s time to leave. Labeling your dogs food and scoop is greatly appreciated :)

Each dog is walked three times a day. For larger dogs or multiple dogs from the same family, we offer two large off leash exercise areas. Please note that our staff is made up of dog lovers who are young , energetic and happy to spend time with your dog. For the safety of our staff, plus our other guests, we ask owners to give us advance warning if your pet is aggressive toward humans or other animals. Your pet will have quality one on one time with a staff member multiple times a day; however, we only interact our regular guests that we have come to know and trust with other dogs. We take pride in keeping every animal safe, and prevent any injuries by keeping our guests separated during their stay.
